Ah the all important Wedding Reception music. You
want it perfect. You want it about you. You want everyone to dance and have fun.
How do you choose just the right music?
Let me start with what hundreds of Weddings has taught
me is maybe the most important part. Don't try to choose every song! A Wedding
Reception/Party is a moving, flowing, event with ever changing dynamics. When
you tie a DJ's hands with a complete list of YOUR favorite songs, you stop the
most important thing a good DJ does for you. That's read the crowd, read the
dance floor, and be able to adjust to get your group doing the most dancing and
having the most fun. We have performed weddings, from Naples, Fort Myers, Tampa,
Virginia Beach, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island to Texas, New York and Nationwide.
One constant that's the most important thing your DJ does (and why they are
better choices than bands) is they know ALL types of music and can read the
crowd and make the party happen.
When you look at the Events page on our website www.humble-entertainment.com you will see everyone getting involved
in the wedding partying. All ages. And you will see parties that will be
remembered long after the rubber chicken, venue, and any thing else that you
have put ahead of the Party. It is ALWAYS the Party that is remembered.
So what do you do to make it your own, with your own
music favorites? Give your DJ a list of your favorite ARTISTS and perhaps 10 of
your favorite songs that mean something to you. Besides this you choose ALL the
Special Dances. First Dance, The Mother/Groom, Bride/Father,Bouquet toss, Garter Removal, Garter Toss, Cake Cutting music. These
and more are all yours. A knowledgeable DJ like those at Humble Entertainment or

it must be customized just for you. Now you have the best of both worlds.
But wait there's more! Another list you may well
want to think about is the "Do Not Play" List." Put those songs on there that
you hate or have heard at other Weddings and do not want them played at yours.
After all "The Hokey Pokey" is not for everybody.

form. And yes just as you suspected, it will make or break the evening. A final
cautionary note is do not look for the cheapest DJ you can find while spending
thousands on that meal that will be forgotten in a week. The DJ is not the place
to do the price comparison shopping. The food is, the Venue is, not the DJ. Get
the best DJ you can find instead. It will be the Wedding of your
Dreams!
